Blog Banter: Why am I still at 18!?

Last year was such an eye opening experience for me. Xbox Live, Playstation Network, Halo 3, you know. So all of last year, Since Halo 3 came out, I have been on my Xbox 360 trying to get my level up in some team slayer. Then I came to realize “What a sec, my ran is still at 18?!”. That’s right, in team slayer, I am still an 18.

Which Brings me to my New Year’s Resolution. My New Year’s Resolution will of course be, Get more fit , and , get to a level 30 in team slayer. That’s all I want, level 30. I am not trying to go for this super awesome level, I just want to enter a room and for my opponents to be like “wow dudes, lets take this guy out first, he is a 30.” It’s funny really, No matter what I do I stay at 18. Let me give you an example. I have been on 18 for the last 3 months, 2 days ago I jumped to a level 19, lost a match, and dropped again. Friends have told me ” Just g to Lone Wolves and murder there so you can jump up your ranking!” But I don’t want the rank, I want to level. Not only that, But its “Lone Wolves” not “Team Slayer”.

I feel like the guy that goes with all his buddies to the club and can’t get in because I’m 18 and not 21. When my friends join my party in the lobby they are all 25 or 27. They always tell me “Listen City, I would play with you really I would, but the match making will take to long and I have to go to work in like 10 minutes so…” So that’s it you guys. My New Year’s Resolution has already started, even though I’m still at 18! If you have a New Year’s Resolution pertaining to gaming let me know. I would love to hear about it.

Well it is the end of the Year and…

This blog all started on October 11th, 2007, I thought to myself “why am i doing this?” then I realized, one, I love gaming and it’s community and two, because I have met so many friends along the way. This post is for these people. I wish them so much success in the future in whatever they want to do.

Alexis from Gamingbits.com

You were the one who saw me grow the most. You helped me on my writing and would feed me anything in gaming. You were so inviting with your site and the experience writing for you was amazing. I started with all my PS3 Demo reviews then you actually let me go on the front page. All the events we would cover were great and because of you, I wanted to start my own blog. I always loved gaming but you were the one who brought me into the nitty gritty of gaming. I appreciate everything you have done for me. So for that, Thank You.

BS Angel From HawtyMcBloggy.com

You guided me through anything and everything. Your love for the Xbox Community inspires me. You were there since the very beginning. You were my first friend I ever met in the Gaming blog community and your still at the top of my list. Every question I have ever asked you, you have always spoon fed or directed me to the solution. If you didn’t have the answer, you would still give me something to help me with my problem. The “Blog Banter” is a huge success I think and I can’t wait to write more with the blogging group (Who ever wants to join the Blog Banter go to HawtyMcBloggy.com
and you can contact her there). So again, Thank you for all your kind words and hospitality. Thanks

Blog Banter: To Memory Lane and Back

This post is my addition to the Blog Banter. What is Blog Banter?

Blog Banter is a group of bloggers passionate about video games. We enjoy getting together once a month to write about the same subject. You will be amazed at the different viewpoints so many people can have on the same exact topic. If you are interested in participating, contact bs angel for more information. Enjoy our stories!

Come with me as we travel back in time (about 12 years) when I was just a young gamer, Not really thinking for myself about what game is good or not. Back in those days, Your favorite game was a game with your favorite TV cartoon character staring in it (which was very common) or Jordan vs. Bird Basketball. Well in this case, I didn’t choose any of them, no, I choose Bubsy The Cat. Now for those who don’t know about my boy Bubsy, It was a game for the Sega Genesis, made in late 1992, and this game was just 16 megs of Fun! The object of the game is to collect yarn balls (since he was a cat) to raise your high score, beat the boss at the end and your done. I loved this game so much I feel like finding a Genesis out there somewhere to re-play my favorite childhood memory.

I would spend hours (3 to 4) just playing this game. While other kids are busy playing Sonic The Hedgehog, I’m sitting on my comfy bunk bed playing my Bubsy. One time I got punished for getting a bad grade on my homework, Wow what a tragedy. My Bubsy was taken away from me for about a week so you know what I did? What any other 4 year old kid would do, that’s right, I cried. Give it a try an see what you think? Bubsy The Cat

Now, at 19 years old, standing at a whopping 6.2ft, life in the gaming world is all about killing and awesome graphics. So what game can fill my cravings for the blood shed and great visual? non other than…Bioshock. Now this game has it all (besides multiplayer). The graphics, the scenery, the storyline, the AI. What more can you ask for in a game? The story line is amazing! It’s sometime during the 1950s. You’re the lone survivor of a horrible plane crash, floating in the middle of the ocean.

Flaming debris surrounds you and you’re quite sure that these will be your final moments. That is, until you see a lighthouse. Yes, a lighthouse. In the middle of the ocean. Go with it. You swim towards this lighthouse and go inside, and are eventually led down to an underwater city known as Rapture. Then you just find you’re way through Rapture trying to figure out things about it while trying to escape fighting off the Big Daddys and Splicers (both being deformed humans seeking the ultimate beauty).

I remembered the first time a Big Daddy charged at me for trying to get his Little Sister. What a mistake. I jumped from how fast these mammoth looking creatures can run so fast! They look so harmless when they walk passed you with no regards, Like if they are humming a song in their heads.I mean, who wouldn’t love a 7 ft, Drill caring, head smashing, face breaking fellow.

So hoped you enjoy our little trip to my young days to now where now I am older and more corrupt. What would you say is your favorite gaming moment whether it was new, old, really old, you get it. Let me know. Till next time, see you online!
