You can play PS 1 games on the Playstation 2, but most of the PS1 games have compatibility problems. You may find a lot of errors and glitches, when you try to play them. If you are able to play PS 1 games in your Playstation2, but not the PS2 games, your system needs to be cleaned out. You can get a can of compressed air from some electronic store and spray it out the vents on the side. You can even unscrew the system and dust out inside.
